Built because creators kept getting stolen from
PTC Coin — Protect The Content — exists for one reason: too many creators share their work online and have nothing to show when someone takes it and calls it their own.
Our mission
Make IP protection so simple and affordable that every creator — regardless of budget, technical skill, or disability — can document their work before it's stolen.
Built in Canada
PTC Coin is a Canadian platform, built for Canadian creators first — with an understanding of CIPO, Canadian copyright law, and the communities that create here.
Why we built this
Content theft is not rare. It's a daily reality for creators who share their work on social media, portfolio sites, stock platforms, and online communities. A 2023 study found that more than 1 in 3 digital creators have had their original work used without permission or credit.
Existing solutions — notaries, formal copyright registration, lawyers — were built for companies with legal budgets, not for independent creators. A single notarised document costs $75–$200. A CIPO registration takes months. A lawyer letter costs $300 before they've even read your case.
Blockchain changes that. A permanent, tamper-proof timestamp on the Polygon network costs less than a cent to write and lasts forever. We built PTC Coin to make that technology accessible — no crypto knowledge required, no jargon, just a certificate that says: this work existed, it was mine, and here's the proof.
A platform built for creators the industry overlooks
Creators with disabilities face compounded barriers: they often can't attend in-person notary appointments, navigate complex legal systems, or absorb high upfront costs. At the same time, a 2024 study found that creators with disabilities are 40% less likely to pursue infringement claims — not because they care less, but because the system wasn't designed for them.
PTC Coin is designed from the ground up to be accessible: mobile-first, screen-reader compatible, no jargon, no office visits. We actively partner with disability-led arts organizations across Canada and are participating in the Canadian Disability Tech Summit.
