Accessibility Statement
Published: October 12, 2026
PTC Coin was built for creators — including the millions of creators with disabilities who are too often underserved by digital platforms. Accessibility is not an afterthought here. It is part of our founding purpose.
Our Commitment
We are committed to ensuring that the PTC Coin platform is accessible to people with disabilities, consistent with the Accessible Canada Act (ACA), the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, and the spirit of Canada's broader accessibility framework.
We know creators with disabilities face compounding disadvantages: their work is just as valuable, just as original, and just as worthy of protection. We want to make sure nothing about our platform gets in the way.
What We've Built
Full Keyboard Navigation
Every feature of the platform can be accessed using a keyboard alone. Tab order is logical and consistent.
Screen Reader Compatible
Semantic HTML, ARIA labels, and live regions ensure screen readers can convey all content and status updates.
High Contrast
Our blue and gold colour scheme meets WCAG AA contrast ratios. We test in both light and dark modes.
Resizable Text
All text scales up to 200% without breaking layout or hiding content. We use relative units throughout.
Large Click Targets
Interactive elements meet minimum 44×44px touch target sizes, supporting motor accessibility needs.
No Flashing Content
We do not use flashing or strobing content that could trigger photosensitive conditions.
Plain Language
We write in plain Canadian English. Legal and technical content includes plain-language explanations alongside formal text.
Focus Indicators
Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements — never hidden or styled away — so keyboard users always know where they are.
Disability Creator Focus
Our platform is specifically designed with disability creators in mind. This means:
- File upload without drag-and-drop dependency. File registration works via a standard file picker button as well as drag-and-drop. Motor impairments shouldn't limit your ability to protect your work.
- No time-limited sessions. We don't automatically log you out after short inactivity periods. Take the time you need.
- Simple, linear registration flow. Our three-step registration process is designed to be straightforward with clear progress indicators and error messages.
- Error messages in plain language. When something goes wrong, we tell you what happened and what to do — not just an error code.
- No mandatory CAPTCHA. We use alternative fraud-prevention methods that don't penalise users with visual or cognitive disabilities.
Known Limitations
We are transparent about areas we are actively working to improve:
- Some complex data visualisations on the admin panel do not yet have full text alternatives. We are adding these.
- Third-party payment flows (Stripe Checkout) are outside our direct control, though Stripe maintains their own accessibility programme.
- Some PDF certificates may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We are adding tagged PDF support.
This is a growing list — we would rather be honest than claim perfection we haven't earned.
Testing
We test accessibility using:
- Automated tools (axe, Lighthouse)
- Manual keyboard navigation testing
- Screen reader testing (NVDA, VoiceOver)
- Colour contrast analysis against WCAG 2.1 AA
We intend to conduct user testing with disability creators as the platform grows. If you'd like to be involved in that process, please reach out.
Feedback & Support
Found an accessibility barrier? We want to hear about it — and fix it.
Or use our contact form
We commit to responding within 5 business days and providing a timeline for fixes.
If you need a specific accommodation to use our platform — an alternative format, a different way to complete a registration, or anything else — contact us and we will do our best to help.
Formal Complaints
If you feel we have not adequately addressed an accessibility concern, you may contact the Canadian Human Rights Commission:
- Website: chrc-ccdp.gc.ca
- Phone: 1-888-214-1090 (toll-free)

Under the Accessible Canada Act, you may also file a complaint with the Accessibility Commissioner if you feel we have failed to fulfil our obligations.
Our Ongoing Commitment
Accessibility is not a checkbox. Creators with disabilities have been building incredible things for as long as creativity has existed. PTC Coin exists to protect that work — all of it. We will keep improving, keep listening, and keep building a platform that serves every creator.
If you have ideas about how we can do better, we genuinely want to hear them.
